Sault Animal Hospital has invested in the most modern equipment available.  The laser is a new addition to the surgery suite.  Lasers allow a much gentler approach to surgery through a dramatic reduction in pain, swelling, and infection.  Lasers also allow more precision during surgery, making procedures that, previously, were difficult and complicated now readily performed.

Lasers work by emiting an intense beam of light energy.  This light instantly vaporizes the water found in body tissue.  The effect is the removal of an extremly small area of tissue allowing an incision to be made.  Lasers will also seal nerve endings and small blood vessels at the same time.  These effects allow incisions to be made with virtually no trauma to surrounding tissues.
